Teej is the most celebrated festival in Rajasthan. Teej refers to the monsoon festivals. Traditional dance and traditional dress like ‘lahriya sari are the main features of this festival. In this festival you can see the traditional parade. In this parade you can see the goddess teej mata palaki picking up by many people on their shoulder. Coming from Janani Dyodhi of City Palace, Jaipur and goes to tirpoliya gate where common people can join the parade. You can see camels and elephant they also covered by traditional colors and dress. Watching parade you can hear symphonies in your head. And the drums they swing low and the trumpets they go.

Teej festival is celebrated during the month of Saawan. This festival is dedicated to the reunion of Lord Shiva and goddess Parvati. It was said that goddess Parvati prays to lord shiva for many years to merry Shiva and when Lord Shiva full fill her wish that day was celebrated as Teej. And this day women pray to Goddess Parvati for well-being of their husband. And many girls prey to get the husband like Shiva.

In India every festival is not completed without sweet and every festival have their special sweets. In sweets shops you can find different sweets but Ghewar is the main sweet of the season. All over Rajasthan swing are hung from trees and decorated with flowers. Women and kids love to swing on these swings to celebrate the monsoon season.
